Accessibility statement

Last updated: 2026-08-09

Visionworks.info aims to make educational vision information usable by as many people as possible, including people with visual, motor, cognitive, and situational impairments. Accessibility is especially important on a vision-related site.

Measures we take

  • Semantic HTML landmarks, headings, and lists
  • Skip link to main content
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, FAQ controls, and interactive tool controls where practical
  • Visible focus styles
  • Form labels and error messaging
  • Optional high-contrast mode (header control)
  • Text that is not conveyed by color alone in tool instructions whenever possible
  • Responsive layouts tested across common viewport widths

Known limitations

  • Some educational acuity and color exercises inherently rely on visual discrimination; we provide textual explanations and limitations alongside them.
  • Third-party advertising iframes may not meet the same accessibility standard as first-party content.
  • Complex canvas/SVG simulations may have reduced screen-reader fidelity; we accompany them with prose summaries.

Compatibility

We target modern evergreen browsers (current Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Assistive technologies vary; if something blocks access to information, tell us.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on visionworks.info, please use the contact form and include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you used. We take these reports seriously and prioritize fixes that unblock content.

Standards aspiration

We work toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria for first-party pages. This statement is not a formal conformance claim for every third-party component.
